About me

Welcome!

My name is Paula Soria. I’m a Visual and Bilingual Journalist based in Phoenix, Arizona. In December 2023, I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Arizona State University’s Cronkite School.

One of my biggest passions in this lifetime is storytelling and believe that photos are one of the most powerful forms of it. In the past, I’ve had the opportunity of working for Cronkite News as a photojournalist where I got to cover from press conferences, to migrant issues at the border of El Paso, Texas. I’ve also worked as a photographer at ASU Media Relations and Strategic Communications department.

A skill of mine that I take pride on is being bilingual. Being fluent in both Spanish and English has given me the opportunity of having a diverse coverage which I’m definitely proud of. Telling the stories of my own community, Latinx, or other communities is one of the things that brings the most fulfillment. As an extra fact, I’ve also had experience in writing long form stories in both Spanish and English which you’re also able to find in this website.

I am always looking forward to expand my coverage and never limit myself. However, if I had to pick the beats I enjoy telling stories about the most, cultural diversity and sustainability would be my top choices.
